Shoulder title, 2nd Battalion, 151st Infantry, 1918-1920
White metal badge in form of the unit's regimental title, '151 Infantry'.
The 2nd Battalion of the 151st Sikh Infantry was formed in Jaffa in Palestine in the last year of the First World War (1914-1918). The formation of the 151st Sikhs was part of a reorganisation of forces in the Middle East. New units, drawn from existing India Army regiments, were formed to take the place of British units transferred to the Western Front to make up the heavy losses suffered during the German Spring Offensive. The unit fought in the Palestine campaign, transferring to Egypt for demobilisation in 1919 and was finally disbanded in July 1920.
