Shoulder title, 3rd Battalion, 151st Punjab Rifles, 1918-1920

Brass badge in form of the unit's regimental number and title, '151 Infantry'.

The 3rd Battalion, 151st Punjab Rifles, was formed in Palestine in the last year of the First World War (1914-1918). The formation of the 151st Sikhs (the 3rd Battalion was designated the 151st Punjab Rifles) was part of a reorganisation of forces in the Middle East. New units, drawn from existing India Army regiments, were formed to take the place of British units transferred to the Western Front to make up the heavy losses suffered during the German Spring Offensive. The battalion fought in the Palestine campaign, transferring to Egypt for demobilisation in 1918 and was finally disbanded in May 1921.
