Shoulder title, 2nd Battalion, 152nd Punjabis, 1918-1921
Brass badge in form of the unit's regimental number, '152', over the unit title, 'Punjabis'.
The 2nd Battalion of the 152nd Punjabis was raised in Mesopotamia (modern Iraq) in the last year of the First World War (1914-1918). The formation of the 152nd Punjabis was part of a reorganisation of forces in the Middle East. New units, drawn from existing India Army regiments, were formed to take the place of British units transferred to the Western Front to make up the heavy losses suffered during the German Spring Offensive. The unit served in Egypt and Palestine and was, after its return to India, disbanded in September 1921.
