Shoulder title, 3rd Battalion, 152nd Punjabis, 1918-1921
White metal badge in form of the unit's regimental and battalion numbers and title, 'Punjabis', over '3/152'.
The 3rd Battalion of the 152nd Punjabis was raised in Palestine in the last year of the First World War (1914-1918). The formation of the 152nd Punjabis was part of a reorganisation of forces in the Middle East. New units, drawn from existing India Army regiments, were formed to take the place of British units transferred to the Western Front to make up the heavy losses suffered during the German Spring Offensive. The unit served in Egypt and Palestine and, after its return to India, was disbanded in April 1921.
