Silver plate badge with an elephant within a wreathed circlet bearing the unit title, 'South Indian Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps', surmounted by a crown.

The South Indian Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps was an auxiliary unit formed in 1884. In 1917 it became the 29th South Indian Railway Battalion. In 1920 it dropped the number from its name.
